The case against Keira Knightley’s alleged stalker has been dropped after the actress informed the court that she wouldn’t be able to come for hearings on the fixed dates.

Marek Daniluk, 41, had allegedly harassed the beauty, sending her gifts and letters.

Also, he had reportedly grabbed her arm outside a theatre in the West End.

However, the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court let the Polish walk free. He was told that the case had been cancelled.

Daniluk, of Enfield, North London, initially did not understand the court’s decision.

“I don’t understand what that means,” the Times quoted him, as saying.

The court also lifted an earlier order, which forced Daniluk to maintain distance from Knightley.

The Crown Prosecution Service said that the case had to be cancelled because Knightley’s testimony was indispensable.

The actress is apparently busy over her filming commitments.

British actress Keira Knightley felt threatened by a fan, who would turn up regularly outside a theatre, and reported him to police.

The fan would regularly wait outside a stage door at the Comedy Theatre, where the actress is performing in “The Misanthrope”, reports The Sun.

The 41-year-old man was apprehended outside the venue and taken into custody Thursday.

“Keira felt threatened by this guy who turned up a number of times and tried to speak to her. He did not make any specific threats to her but she was concerned enough to call the police,” said a source.

Added a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police: “A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of harassment on Thursday. The arrest follows concern expressed by a woman.”

Hollywood actress Keira Knightely has backed out from the race to land the lead in ‘My Fair Lady remake’ after waiting more than two years.

The ‘Atonement’ star read for the role in 2007 and was even said to have taken singing lessons in the hope of landing the part of Eliza Doolittle, a character made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the 1964 musical.

Knightely said last year, “I auditioned for it about two years ago, and I think it”s been a matter of trying to assemble the correct team to do it that is going to make as interesting a movie and as good a movie as possible.

“There are good whispers going around, you know, and hopefully they”ll come to fruition,” she added.

However, according Daily Mail, she was never offered the part – and now she”s taken herself out of consideration, reports the Daily Express.

An Education star Carey Mulligan is now tipped to take the coveted role.
