Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron insists he hates watching himself on screen as he notices “every single flaw” in his performance.

“As far as watching myself on screen, I tend to, especially the first time around, pick out every single flaw, or things I could have and should have done better. I don’t know why, but I tend to dwell on those things.

“I’m more of a cringer, at first. And then, when it’s years down the road and it’s out of the way, I can look back and appreciate it somehow,” contactmusic.com quoted him as saying.

The 22-year-old also admits that Leonardo DiCaprio is his inspiration as he tries to make the transition from teen idol to serious actor.

He said: “I think Leo is a guy that’s been through all this. I’m sure he knows how this felt, at one point or another, and he just continued. He persevered and stuck to his guns, and went through the best and the worst of times.

“He made cool movies, and some that didn’t work so well. Regardless, he’s doing it and he’s survived and, just now, he’s starting to make some of the coolest movies of his career.”

There are some rumors in tabloids that Zac Efron can become a new Hollywood muse of Nicholas Sparks.
According to Variety, Zac Efron will allegedly star in “The Lucky One” produced by Warner Brothers. This flick is based on the same-name novel written by Sparks.

The film tells the story of a young Marine who is lucky enough to survive 3 tours of duty in Iraq. This guy attributes his good fortune to a picture of a woman that he carried around all the time. It is notable, that he has never met that woman in the photograph. After he returns back home (before his military service he lived in North Carolina), he decides to find her no matter what.

“The Lucky One” is the most recent Nicholas Sparks’ novel-to-big-screen adaptation. His other famous works include “Dear John,” “Nights in Rodanthe,” “Message in a Bottle,” “A Walk to Remember,” “The Notebook,” and “The Last Song” with Miley Cyrus playing the star role.

According to some reports, Zac may try to get engaged in one more new project.
Deadline informs that the actor wants to star in “Die in a Gunfight,” a modern Romeo and Juliet-like story.

“High School Musical” star Zac Efron would love to do a role in the sequel to comic hit “The Hangover”.

The actor moved away from his Disney roots with 2009 drama “Me and Orson Welles”, and this year awaits the release of his fantasy film “The Death and Life of Charlie St.Cloud” but the 22-year-old wants his next role to be more light-hearted, reports accesshollywood.com.

“(A role in ‘The Hangover’ sequel) would be amazing. I think that they’re amazing and I love the cast that they’ve got going on,” he said.

Writer-director Todd Phillips is busy working on a follow-up to the comedy and is set to start filming later this year. And actor Ed Helms admits Efron would be a welcome addition to the cast.

“I love that guy. He’s actually really funny,” said Helms.
